	A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius by Dave Eggers ---not sure if this is fictional story or not but good book about how the strange, funny ways that people impact us even when they aren't part of our day to day life.

	Assassination Vacation by Sarah Vowell

	Blink by Malcolm Gladwell ---interesting read, but the basic premise is that if you have expertise (and minimize or eliminate judgements based on gender and race) you can make effective decisions without gathering and analyzing large amounts of data.

	Dry: A Memoir by Augusten Burroughs

	En Mil Pedazos (A Million Pieces) by James Frey ---I'm about half way thru and I started reading it yesterday. I know all the bs about Oprah, but she's a fool, it doesn't matter if it's true, somewhat true, or completely made up, this is a gut-wrenching, soul-shredding, story.

	Fragile Things by Neil Gaiman ---just started this collection of short stories but these two lines from the introduction really stand out: There are so many fragile things after all. People break so easily, and so do hearts and dreams.

Ishmael: An Adventure of the Mind and Spirit by Daniel Quinn ---a thought-provoking book about how we evolved into the society that we are today

Killing Yourself to Live: 85% of a True Story by Chuck Klosterman ---Love this book, every chapter there's a sentence or paragraphthat I want to write down so I can remember it.

Magical Thinking: True Stories by Augusten Burroughs ---really loved this collection of short essays. In everyone ofthem I could relate it to myself or someone that I know. Refreshingly honest and funny. "A psychological transsexual trying to 'pass' for a normal person but being clocked every time."

Sex, Drugs, and Cocoa Puffs: A Low Culture Manifesto by Chuck Klosterman

The World Acorrding to Garp by John Irving ---one of my all time favorites!

Things My Girlfriend and I Have Argued About: A Novel by Mil Millington ---The author has a great sense of humor. One of those books that makes me laugh out loud and want to read sections to anyone that's around. Can't take it to a coffee shop, everyone will think I'm crazy.

	Wigfield by Amy Sedaris ---listening to the audiobook, the sarcasm and irony practicallydrip out of the earbuds. Makes me laugh out loud so no listening in public places, don't want to confirm the fact that I am a crazy person.

The Lake House ---The Clientele song during the opening and the house are the only redeeming qualities of this movie

The Cooler

Leaving Las Vegas ---This is the movie that makes me see every bad Nicolas Cage movie since. It's hard to believe they're acting, it looks and feels so authentic.

Smokin' Aces ---good action, a little sappy at the end

Hollywoodland ---Affleck found the role he was born to play 'Block of Wood'. One good line: "Nobody ever asks to be happy later." Tony Mannix

The Science of Sleep ---What I saw was good, then I feel asleep :-)

A Very Long Engagement ---The story of Mathilde and her fiancee Manech. Mathilde refuses to believe that her fiancee Manech died in WWI and searches for him. Wonderful book, the movie lives up to it.

Babylonia en Guagua ---Filmed liave in Paris at the Grande Hall de la Villette, thisManu Chao and the Radio Bemba Sound System concert footage is incredible. Can't wait to see him live at Sasquatch!

Melvin Goes to Dinner ---OK movie, a couple of interesting twists at the end.

The Lives of Others ---Really great movie, wished it would have explained HGW's motivations more, just scratched the surface of his character.

Poseidon ---I'm noticing a trend, Saturday mornings I always end up watching bad movies. Thru this entire movie I thought about how much I missed Shelley Winters.

Zodiac ---Glad I didn't know how this ended, might not have been willing to sit thru the entire 2.5 hours. Good movie, not 'Fight Club' good tho. Loved the scene were the transamerica bldg is constructed.

American Beauty ---One of the movies that makes me admire Kevin Spacey.

Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas ---Been listening to the audio book, will have to go back and finish it; think it might be better than the movie.

Garden State ---An all-time fav, everytime I watch I have to listen to the soundtrack immediately after.

The Descent ---A few good scary moments but overall not that great of a flick.

Thirteen ---Terrifying

Breaking the Waves ---The oddest of love stories.

Breach ---Fine movie but no real 'edge of your seat' moments since youknow going in how it's going to end.

Pan's Labyrinth ---Great, walked out and wanted to see it again because I missedthe first minute. A little gory.

Devil's Playground ---Interesting documentary about the Amish teenage rite of passage.

Dazed and Confused ---I had this strange dream about high school :-)

Match Point ---Great movie (and I really don't like Scarlett Johansson).

Black Dahlia ---This movie sucked, after a hour I wanted everyone to die.

Casanova ---horrible, but like a train wreck couldn't stop watching.

The Notebook ---Cried twice, but I guess that's the point.

I Am Trying to Break Your Heart ---About the making of Wilco's Yankee Hotel Foxtrot album. Thereare some glimpses of Tweedy that make you wonder if the whole indie writer/singer thing an act.

Jarhead ---Disturbing and difficult to watch

Unknown ---So so flick, definitely not Memento; at least there's a twistat the end.

Before Sunset ---Another Linklater/Hawke movie. Love this movie (3rd time seeing it), it unfolds in real time. My cynical side identifies with this quote "I'm designed to feel slightly dissatisfied", but there's lots of positive things in this movie to counteract it.

Tape ---Interesting movie. The characters present three different perspectives, and like life, you are never sure which one is reality. They are all reality to them.

Riding Giants ---Great documentary about the history of surfing giant waves including the modern feats of Laird Hamilton. Also, a great soundtrack, now off to do a little downloading ;-)
